Greetings from Manila, Philippines!
This is Nida Tubalado-Cuevas. The fifth child of the late Epimaco Tubalado (second generation of the Tubalado clan from Bato, Toledo). Im married to Maharlika de los Angeles Cuevas from Sampaloc, Manila.
I havent heard of any myth about the origin of the Tubalado from my father. But historical account mentioned that it was the Spaniards who named the Filipino people or Indios based on their geographical location. Likewise, elite Filipinos has the previlege to choose their family name.
This need further investigation.

Hello Tubalado Family,
I am going to start a new post regarding the myth of the Tubalado family name as narrated to me by my father, Prudencio Sr. According to Prudencio Sr., the name “Tubalado” was derived from the name “Cristobal”. Our great grandfather’s last name is Cristobal from Sevilla Spain.

Maayong adlaw kaninyong tanan, especially to those who had the burning desire to thread our ancestral fabric. Please understand those who walk before us and that we cannot expect too much! Sometimes the gift of some things begins with nothing so instead of Myth, I suggest a theory based on word derivatives. The meaning of the word ‘ADO’ in Spanish like Color+ADO means colored objects or Silver+ADO means covered in silver and Eldor+ADO is a City paved with Gold. Meanwhile the Brown Driver and Briggs Hebrew Lexicon indicates the meaning of Tubal as “thou shall be brought” and in the Hitchcock’s Bible Names Dictionary the name ‘TUBAL’ indicates the meaning as “the earth; the world; or of confusion.” The word (TUBAL) does not exist as a root-word on any dialects spoken in the Philippines instead it is spoken-of in couple of pages in the book of Ezekiel Chapter 32 and 38.
